"Behold, children are a gift of the LORD; the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them..." Psm 127

The Armor of God

As I see T.V. and hear the latest music, I see how Satan is "seeking to kill and destroy", especially our youth. What used to be totally incomprehensable to think much less talk about is openly discussed in our culture today. As a substitute teacher in high school and middle school, I hate to say I'm often shocked to hear what kids will talk about with each other AND in front of a complete stranger! It truly saddens me. What hope do they have? They know no God. Even those that have Christ in thier lives sometimes seem oblivious to what is going on around them or think it's "no big deal". They've become accustom to what they see and hear every day. They are no longer shocked! I try to encourage my teens to remember what our pastor has been teaching lately. We need to DAILY put on our spiritual armor and clothe ourselves in humility. "...and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves, therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety upon Him, for He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by brethen who are in the world. " 1Peter 5:5-9
